Teviral is indicated for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in adults and pediatric patients 2 years of age and older with:
Evidence of active viral replication, and
Either persistent elevation in serum aminotransferases (ALT/AST) or histologically active liver disease.
Pediatric: Safety and efficacy established for ≥2 years; not recommended <2 years.
Geriatric: Limited data in patients ≥65 years; caution advised, monitor renal function.

Healthy volunteers tolerated doses up to 20 mg/day for 14 days and single doses up to 40 mg without unexpected adverse events.

Administration: Should be taken on an empty stomach (≥2 hours after or before a meal).
Missed Dose:
No significant interaction with Lamivudine or Adefovir dipivoxil.
Caution required with drugs eliminated via renal pathways or those affecting renal function.
Monitor for adverse events when co-administered with nephrotoxic agents.
Known hypersensitivity to Entecavir or any excipient of the formulation.
Pregnancy: Insufficient data; use only if potential benefit outweighs risk. The transmission risk of HBV from mother to infant is not fully established.
